Oliver Spadiut

Prof Spadiut received his PhD in Biotechnology from TU Wien in 2008, he also holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences BOKU in Vienna. After completing his PhD, Prof Spadiut worked as a Post-Doc at the Division of Glycoscience at KTH in Stockholm. He then returned to TU Wien, where he worked as a University Assistant from 2010 to 2016. During this time, he also served as a Visiting Scientist at the Chemistry Department of the University of British Columbia and as a Visiting Scholar at the School of Biotechnology at Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand. In 2016, Prof Spadiut was promoted to Assistant Professor at TU Wien. He was then promoted to Associate Professor in 2018 and became the Head of Research Area Biochemical Engineering in 2022. Throughout his career, he has also been involved in a number of research projects, including five projects funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and 13 projects funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). In addition to his research, Prof Spadiut has also been involved in teaching at several universities. He has taught a total of 18 courses at TU Wien since 2010, including courses on Bioprocess Engineering, Bioreactor Design, and Fermentation Technology. He has also taught courses at IMC FH Krems, FH Technikum Wien, and Johannes Kepler Universität Linz.
