From 1987 to 1992, he pursued studies in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering at HTL in Weiz. Mr. Knill’s professional career began in 1993, where he held leadership positions within the KNILL GRUPPE for nearly a decade. Since 2002, Mr. Knill has been a Managing Partner of the KNILL GRUPPE, sharing this role with his brother, Christian Knill. In addition to his involvement with the KNILL GRUPPE, he has held the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rosendahl Nextrom GmbH since 2014. Within the framework of the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV), from 2001 to 2008, he served as Chairman of the Jungen Industrie Steiermark. Subsequently, he held positions on the board of IV-Steiermark from 2008 to 2012, first as a member and later as Vice President. From 2016 to 2020, he served as President of IV-Steiermark. Since June 2020, Georg Knill has held the position of President of the Industrial Association at federal level.
