Christian Sewing, born in 1970, has been a member of the Executive Board since 1 January 2015. He has been Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors since April 2018. Christian Sewing joined Deutsche Bank in 1989. From January to June 2015, he was responsible for Legal, Incident Management Group and Group Audit on the Board of Managing Directors, after which he assumed responsibility for the Private and Corporate Clients Bank Division until April 2018. From June 2013 to December 2014, he headed Group Audit. Prior to that, he held a number of management positions in the area of risk – in addition to Frankfurt, also in locations such as Singapore, Toronto, Tokyo and London. From 2012 to 2013, he was Deputy Chief Risk Officer and previously, from 2010 to 2012, Chief Credit Officer of the Bank. From 2005 to 2007, he was a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Genossenschafts-Hypothekenbank. Since July 2021, he has been President of the German Banking Association and since March 2023, he has also been President of the European Banking Federation.
