Dr Philipp Amann is the Head of Strategy at the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3). EC3 Strategy is responsible for assessing and acting on relevant trends and threats related to cybercrime and cyber-security. Other key areas of responsibility include driving innovation, managing EC3’s industry advisory groups, prevention & awareness and internet governance.
He has worked in various fields, including the financial sector, global disarmament, international investigations and on issues related to safety and security in cyberspace, topics he deeply cares about. Dr Amann is also a member of ENISA’s Permanent Stakeholder Group.
He held positions with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the International Criminal Court, OSCE and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
His professional experience is complemented by a PhD degree and a Master’s degree in business informatics from the University of Vienna. He also holds an MSc in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation from UCD.
