Mag. Dr. Michael Strugl, MBA, has been Chairman of the Managing Board of VERBUND AG since January 2021. He previously served as Deputy Chairman (2019–2020). His current areas of responsibility include corporate strategy, energy economics, strategic human resources, corporate innovation and new business solutions, ventures, and marketing and communications. Strugl is President of Oesterreichs Energie, the World Energy Council Austria, and the JKU Alumni Club. He was Vice-Governor of Upper Austria (2017–2018) and founded the think tank Academia Superior in 2010. His background combines top-level public service and corporate leadership in Austria’s energy sector.
