Magnus Brunner, born in 1972 in Höchst, studied law at the universities of Innsbruck, Vienna, and King’s College London. Since December 6, 2021, he has been Austria’s Finance Minister. After his studies, he was office manager for Governor Herbert Sausgruber and from 2002 to 2006 political director of the Austrian Economic League. He then led corporate development and communication at Illwerke VKW Group and became a board member at OeMAG in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Federal Council, later serving as Vice-President as well as serving as State Secretary before becoming Finance Minister.
